in gratitude

memday

Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May (May 25 in 2009). Formerly known as Decoration Day, it commemorates U.S. men and women who died while in the military service. First enacted to honor Union soldiers of the American Civil War (it is celebrated near the day of reunification after the Civil War), it was expanded after World War I to include American casualties of any war or military action.  (Wikipedia)

I hope you have a special day with family and friends in remembrance.

  1. Hi Mary Kathryn,
I wish you and also to all american people, a very good Memorial Day. Here, in France, the sacrifice of american soldier was very important during the World War II.
I discovered your beautiful and creative blog very recently, pictures are wonderful. Such as you, I am a fan of LHN and CCN.
Have a very good rememberance day with your family.
    Best regards.
    Corinne
