I’m afraid I don’t have much stitching to show for it however. I did manage to dye some linen for CHS Asenath Whitcomb, 1819. You can read about my ‘technique’ here. I am much happier with this color in both lamp and daylight. Now if I could just find some time to stitch.

I have had more time for knitting since I can do this in the car easier. I often have to drop one kid here and pick up another kid there with a bit of time to kill in between but not enough time to run an errand or go home. So I sit in the car and knit. I have two projects in the works. Amber gave me the pretty chunky yarn and needles for Christmas which I’m using to make a shawl/wrap. And the other is my progress on this project.

Thanks for all the encouragement. Jerry worked out of town for 3 months this time last year and was gone on several shorter projects as well, it’s not something I like at all but work is work and we really are grateful for it, but I still miss him like crazy!

Believe me I am keeping VERY busy.

  1. I’m going to have to watch the progress on your piece. It’s one that has intrigued me for a while too. Very pretty start Mary Kathryn.

  2. I think that fabric color looks wonderful for Asenath Whitcomb. Thanks for sharing the dyeing directions. Those knitted squares are so pretty. I love blue!

  3. All your projects look so pretty. I love Homespun yarn, too. It’s very soft. I’ve made many prayer shawls from it and myself and my girls shawls too. Yes, it’s much easier to knit in the car than stitch!
